remember this guy? Chee Soon Juan, the head of the Singapore Democratic Party who was jailed the last election. he was jailed because he "spoke in public without a permit" at the Speakers' Corner and also "attempting to hold a rally without license". well, if you need to apply for a permit to speak at the Speakers' Corner, then change the name of that place to Speakers' Corner-ed. if you're a political leader and you need a license to rally yourself for elections, then might as well not have elections?

democracy. are we in a democratic state or semi-democratic. i'm putting myself in great risk by saying all these, but i believe only slaves are afraid of the goverment. we are democratic, don't we have the right to voice out anything we want as long it is not personal attack? they can jail him, but they can't jail his spirit. i'm sure he will come back stronger the next election.

i was watching some videos on his rallies on youtube.com last night. well, his videos had many views and people posted many comments also. from what i see in the comments, almost everyone supports him in what he says and they wanna vote for him the next election. i believe the younger generation will vote for the opposition parties in time to come. no doubt PAP has done well all these years but maybe an opposition will do better? we never know until we try.
